The first year of the 118th Congress may not have included any big legislative achievements for small businesses, but it did include a lot of legislative activity aimed at strengthening federal support for America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs—including more than 30 small business committee hearings.
A bipartisan nonprofit representing small businesses is set to launch Tuesday with the hopes of marshalling tens of thousands of entrepreneurs to press Congress for its policy priorities. Howard Makler, chairman of Americans for Small Business, said the group plans to spend at least $1 million and roll out a scorecard of lawmakers’ records.
